Seekmagic - Treasure of Secrets

Time for another guest mix!
This time we proudly present Seekmagic's Nick Cubley from Newcastle upon Tyne /UK. He began the lovely seekmagic blog back in 2009 as a means of putting his mixes out on the internet after friends told him they were worthy of a wider audience (AND OH YES,  THEY ARE!) 
"Treasure of secrets" is a true reflection of the music Nick plays at the Seekmagic nights. He hosts these together with his friends Dave Lovenbury and Danny Potts. Check them guys out on the last saturday of every month, at their spiritual home in the city, The Tanners Arms.

since i started the joy of cooking I wanted to have a show dedicated to the world's #1 cuisine - bella italia. I gathered quite a few tracks so that it was getting more and more difficult to chose the "right ones". 2 weeks ago i stopped looking for the perfect tracks and just made part one. more parts will follow in the future... For part one I decided to leave out some usual suspects as well as ignore the so called "Italo Disco". Instead I focussed almost only on songs that I discovered in record shops (except from 2 or 3 tracks) and I hope you'll enjoy it nevertheless....

 I recorded it on a day that was the fourth day of heavy and constant rain in a row and it went well with the lentil soup that i was cooking afterwards....

of course it's dedicated to those wonderful moments of strolling over a food market, getting together the ingredients for tonight's dinner. and of course i'm bringing in the record thing again. here's a great / experimental mix from Terrordisco a.k.a. Sveinbjörn from Reykjavík, Iceland. He contacted me after hearing Abel's last mix for the growing bin describing "Short Waves" with words like this: "It's kinda conceptual, rooted in memories of playing around with shortwave radios when I was a kid."
Yep, that's what it is! And it's full of wonderful bittersweet moments....
