in the garden
This summer I had the pleasure to play some records in the wonderful Garden at Zadar, Croatia. If you have the chance travel there - do so - you won't regret!!
Here's the recording of the first hour from saturday afternoon. Every time I listen to it I have the fondest memories of standing there in the shade, watching the ships float by, sipping on Aperol Spritz and playing some music for my lady reading a book, Bobby Beige taking a nap and the garden's guests chilling out.
I feel the urge have to mention that this mix starts with a recording by Luc Ferrari called Presque Rien No.1 (Le Lever Du Jour Au Bord De La Mer). The original recordings for this piece are said to be recorded at the croation coast not far away from Zadar so I took the opportunity to bring it back there. Kind of my way to say thank you, Monsieur Ferrari. At least I got rewarded by some strange looks of the garden's service team :) I hope you enjoy this releaxed hour ...
Hugest thanks to Bobby, Charlotte, Nick and the whole Garden Team for some amazing days in the sun!

I'd like to use this post to deeply THANK YOU Ryan for creating one of most wonderful places in the web. Like thousands of others I discovered tons of great tunes and musicians through the TOTD. On top of that I got to know some wonderful people there as well. Long live the Dream Chimney!!

Luigi Malatesta - EMR-06
Luigi Malatesta - EMR-06
Hi there! I've been curious about this one for a while, mostly due to the tracknames of the a-side. Underwater-themed Italian librarymusic.. mmmmmm. I don't even know if it *is* librarymusic, as info on this release is scarce. Maybe someone can shed some light. This is not the best of rips, but I'm sure one will eventually surface that does this moody album justice. Enjoy it!

Mysterious Lights
What a mysterious light!?! I have passed that record more than a couple of times without listening. When I finally did I had to punch myself for judging a record for it' s cover - again! I missed some pretty awesome contemporary jazz ranging from "organic night tales" to ambient synthetics. In other words - it's a subtle bomb!!
check it out the full album here and listen to my fave here

Kenneth Bager - Music For Dreams
Here's some baked delights directly from danish pioneer Kenneth Bager 's lovely oven. Being a DJ and producer since the 80s he knows damn well how to use some tasty ingredients. He's has been on national radio in Denmark for 4 decades and keeps playing old discoveries, new and interesting music every monday on his Music For Dreams show on Ibiza Sonica radio.
Kenneth has worked with Julee Cruise, Jean Luc Ponty, Aloe Blacc, Damon C Scott from Storm Queen and Sofie Gråbøl, leading actress from the cult Tv series "The Killing" are featured on his forthcoming album "Follow the Beat".
While Kenneth is not making music or playing in Ibiza, he throws some of the best parties around - his Coma Club celebrated the 25th anniversary last year. He also does a festival called "The Apple Flower Festival" together with Danish chef Claus Meyer - some of the line up for this year is: Gigi Masin playing live (!!), Phil Mison, Tako & Abel, HubbabubbaKlubb as well as yours truly :)
Not to Forget his label Music For Dreams having released more than 65 albums to date. In his mix for the growing bin Kenneth takes us on a relaxed and classy stroll through some decades of amazing music.
Thanks so much Kenneth!
