Im Stollwerk

Cologne rules! I am a big fan of Dunkelziffer / Unknown Cases and especially of Dominik von Senger. Guess what my face looked like when I turned the cover of this LP to have a look at the back.... If you're a fan too - download immediately. If not - give 'em a try anyway.

Download expired in 2011. After I posted this in 2009 this post got only 1 (ONE!) comment in 2 years. Maybe some of you have snapped by now that these guys rule ; ) New link follows

Cheers,
Basso

So great to have this.

What was in the water in Koln that caused so much great ethno fusion to spring from the earth there??

It's not just Jaki!

Such a great compilation, the electronic music of Cologne has always been fascinating and the post-Can Unknown Cases/Dominik Von Senger/Phantom Band/Dunkelziffer nexus from the eighties has in my opinion been responsible for some of the most interesting music of the period.

Apart from 'Masimba Bele' I was pretty much ignorant of the music from Cologne during the early-mid eighties - too busy listening to Malaria, Xmal-Deutschland and Einsturzende Neubauten (which were the German bands pushed in the UK music press).

Dominik Von Senger ‎has been making some amazing music recently, the two singles from three or four years back on the wonderful Golf Channel label are well worth checking out.

I posted a link over at the now sadly defunct Mutant Sounds blog who also posted this compilation around the same time you did Basso.
