Disco Frog?

Paris France Transit is a Didier Marouani project from 1982. Kind of a cross-genre exercise with some tracks fitting the cosmic disco mold and others sounding like The Wall era Pink Floyd. Marouani (Ecama on this release) was in good company with a fairly large crew of talented musicians helping with the sound.

Classic album, the tension between the linear 'progressive' elements and the more spatial tripped out electronics creates a really cool dynamic. 'Voices Of Jupiter' & 'Child' are my personal favourites but the whole album really works, the way the diversity of styles are woven together.

His 1987 'Space Opera' is worth checking out though sometimes its a little too 'opera' and a little less 'space' for my liking.

The other real killer Didier Marouani record is the 1979 Temp X/Song For You 12 Inch (just check out the cover!)which the most excellent Francemusik blog posted ages ago.

Didier Marouani:space was his place ;)
